Welcome to Ghana Companion. By accessing or using our app, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 15 years old to use this app. By registering, you confirm that you are 15 years of age or older.
2. Registration and Account Security
To access the app, you must register by providing a valid email address, a password, and your name. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities under your account.
3. Content Sources
Our app provides various services, including news updates, job postings, tourist attractions, promotions/deals, weather updates, stock information, popular USSD codes, a holiday calendar, and exchange rates. Content is aggregated from third-party sources, including:
- Weather data from Open Weather Map API.
- Exchange rates from third-party providers.
- Content such as news, jobs, tourist sites, and stocks are gathered through backend crawling, scraping and external APIs through third-party sources.
We do not control or assume responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of third-party content.
4. Advertisements
The app displays advertisements to non-Pro and non-Premium members. By using the app, you agree to the display of such advertisements. To remove ads, users can subscribe to the Pro or Premium plans.
5. Subscriptions and Paid Services
We offer two subscription plans:
- Pro Plan: Removes ads and provides the ability to view and convert between the Ghana Cedi (GHS) and major currencies.
- Premium Plan: Includes all Pro Plan features, plus content customization, detailed stock information from the Ghana Stock Exchange, and priority notifications for job offers.
By subscribing, you agree to pay all applicable fees for your chosen plan. Subscription fees are non-refundable.
6. User-Generated Content
Currently, there is no user-generated content feature in the app. However, in the future, users may be able to leave reviews on tourist sites. Any user-generated content will be subject to our content guidelines and may be removed at our discretion.
7. Data Usage and Sharing
We collect and use certain data to improve your experience and enhance app functionality:
- Usage Data: We share anonymized usage data with Firebase for analytics and crash reporting purposes.
- Personal Data: We do not share personally identifiable information with any third parties.
8. Data Retention
If you choose to delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed from our systems and cannot be recovered.
9. Push Notifications
The app sends push notifications to keep you informed about updates and promotions. You can deactivate push notifications at any time through your device settings.
10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use device IDs and email addresses for app functionality. No additional tracking or cookies are used to collect your data.
11. Termination of Use
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at our discretion, without notice, if you violate these Terms & Conditions or engage in unauthorized or unlawful activities.
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ghana and any other applicable jurisdiction where a user accesses the app.
13. Changes to Terms & Conditions
We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. We may notify you of any changes through the app. Continued use of the app after such changes will constitute your acceptance of the new terms.
14. Limitation of Liability
Ghana Companion is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
